Altough Canada Goose nearly died out in North America they have made a rapid upswing in population. Like the coyote they adapt well to human habitat. The non migratory population groups are in many areas considered pests. For me the sure sign of springs arrival is the sound of the migratory geese honking in the sky as they wing their way north.
